Setbacks (…or Maybe Something Else?)

Setbacks are a pain in my butt.

I’m not new to this feeling, that place where you finally start to recover, where things begin to look a little better, feel a little lighter…

and then somehow, it all shifts again.


Like the rug gets pulled out from underneath you.

Again.


It’s a cycle. One I know all too well.

That feeling of starting over before you even feel ready.

But this time… I’m doing something different.

I’m not spiraling. I’m not panicking. I’m not sitting there asking, "What am I going to do now?”

Not this time.


This time, I’m choosing calm.

I’m choosing to pause, to breathe, to ground myself in what’s still good.

Because even here, in the middle of the frustration, the unknown, the “not again” feeling,

there is still good.


Today doesn’t look like fixing everything.

It looks like a hot bath. A cup of chamomile tea. A moment to slow down enough to remember…

I am still supported.


And instead of holding everything in like I usually do, pretending I’ll figure it out on my own…

I’m reaching out.

Because keeping it all inside? That’s never been what breaks the cycle.

So maybe this isn’t just another setback.


Maybe this is a moment to pay attention.

To pause long enough to ask:

What am I missing?

What is this trying to show me?

Where is the pattern, and how do I finally shift it?


Because I don’t want to keep repeating the same cycle.

I’m ready to do it differently.

I’m ready to break free from the patterns that keep pulling me back.

And if you’re here feeling like you’ve been knocked down again…

just know this:

You’re not alone in this.

And maybe… just maybe…

this isn’t where you’re falling apart.

This is where things start to change 🤍
